Based in San Fernando, Calif., Caluco Furniture was founded in 2003 by Aaron Gochman, a Russian immigrant and self-made businessman. After running two successful ventures in real estate and construction, Gochman decided to pursue a third: outdoor patio furniture. With the goal of importing teak furniture from the sustainable forests of Indonesia, Gochman approached his first retail partner, Los Angeles-based Victory Furniture, with his idea. Victory agreed to sell Gochman's line of teak patio furniture, and so began Caluco Furniture's success. In the last eight years, Caluco has grown, and today retailers around the world, including Premiere Adirondack Chairs, sell the company's teak tables, teak patio chairs, chaise lounges, and more.
